A new study corroborates what the Developmental Approach therapies have been practicing for years: teach parents how to interact with their autistic children and their children’s natural development will flourish. The study emphasized empathy in order for parents to better understand their children’s experiences while the children were preschool age and showed parents how to foster enriched interactions with their children. Six years later, the children in the intervention group showed better progress in the core symptoms of autism than the control group.
