Welcome to the Autism Developmental Approach Therapies Association, or Autism DATA. We are a group of parents and professional practitioners in Canada who use a developmental, relationship-based approach in our interactions with the children we live and work with. We have seen the successful outcomes that using a developmental approach brings and we believe these therapies should be publicly funded.
We believe in a developmental approach to autism therapy. We believe in developmental intervention over behaviour management. It is our mission to advocate for parent choice in treatment for autism spectrum disorder. We believe parents should have the option of having funding for a relationship-based therapy. A developmental approach is relationship-based.
We believe in these things and advocate for parent choice by keeping you up to date on the latest in the world of developmental approach interventions for children with developmental delays including autism spectrum disorders. New posts will alert you to new research, current practices, upcoming conferences and presentations, progress on government funding and advocacy, and more.
We will post a bulletin newsletter to compile the latest news that you can view or download. You can also sign up to receive an email when the latest bulletin has been published. It is our hope that by having a website that highlights the work we do, it will bring more attention to the developmental approach therapies and that the Ontario government will allow parents the choice to have these evidence-based therapies funded as they are in other jurisdictions in Canada and abroad.
